TF2 Times: most nights between 7PM and 3AM, PST, depending on schedule

I generally play as Sniper or Medic, depending on what's needed, though I'm also pretty handy with all the other classes excepting Demo and Spy. Outside TF2, I am a senior at the University of California, Berkeley, studying English and Legal Studies (with plans for law school), have a fabulous girlfriend who is invariably the one to blame for any TF2-related absences, and otherwise spend my time trying to maintain a believable social facade while preserving the geek within ;)

Happy to be here. Thanks Seltzer!

Teach the woman to play! XD Glad you came around, Cyber. This is shaping up to be a pretty awesome team!

If only I could. Alas, there's a difference between geek appreciation and geek participation.

Torch is a lucky man :)

Gaming doesn't have to be geeky. Gaming itself is just like any other game/sport whether its Football, soccer, bridge (card game), chess, gymnastics, etc; it all has to do with your approach not the act itself. Definitely try to get your girl into it if you think there is any chance she may find any aspect of it entertaining, just don't push her if she doesn't want to play as much as you do.

Creating a bond between soldier and medic only strengthens the bonds in real life ;-)

TorcH, you are an idiot. <.< I loved video games long before I loved you.

Haha. Pokemon indeed. (6th grade or so?) In any case, I'm on Xfire, have added everyone, and am generally online as it's on my laptop (which follows me everywhere). As for the girl, I've asked, but there's not much interest. I really believe it's one of those things you either love or are indifferent to, and many people just don't have the gamer streak.

I still think, however, that gaming is inherently geeky =P And that's good! It's not about not being geeky; it's about redefining the geek paradigm. You can maintain a less geeky side of things, and use the geek to supplement situations in which it's appreciated. (Which is not to say I am at all embarrassed about it depending on the crowd; it's just that someone who doesn't game won't care much about my awesome-o medic record :D).

Win-win.
