This is my theory on the new PotC movies:

---

Why did Jack willingly go into the Kraken?

Jack went into the Kraken for a logical reason. Let's recall the meeting between him and Dorma. When Will and Dorma (the swamp lady) are engaged in a conversation, you can see Jack take a ring off of a table. This leads me to some sort of conclusion:

This gives Jack some sort of invincibility. If you do recall their convo, the movie implies that they were together before, as in, ya know, a couple. This would explain how Jack knows about the ring beforehand.

Why did Jack want Davy Jones' heart?

I believe, before the sword fight, Jack implies he wants to use the Kraken for himself. However, when all three are fighting in the sand, the two crewman are chatting. One suggests that Jack wants to trade it off. Both of these ideas are quite believable.

How did Barbossa come back?

One theory on the internet suggests that the ring aforementioned was Barbossa's. It prevented his death and Jack's invincibility. Here's my take: Barbossa was somehow summoned back by Dorma: either by Jack, the undead monkey, or some sort of way.

Well, will there be a trailer for the third movie?

I would think from a business standpoint, yes. The makers must let the audience know that Jack is somehow alive, or can be brought back. Otherwise, goodbye box-office.

I can't wait to see the 3rd one! I hate cliff hangers. :(

Me likes the ring theory, but how exactly would the monkey remain undead? This is what I don't understand, if all the cursed gold was put back, then why is the monkey still skeletal?

With the cliffhanger they ended off Dead Man's Chest with, they want to spark as much discussion as possible, in order to keep the hype alive.

If you watched the first movie after the credits, it showed the monkey taking a gold coin off of Barbossa. Simple, really. :) The curse was lifted for those batches of crewman, but the monkey started it off again. He's the only undead one this time.

Well I didn't stay after I saw it so that's why. Whatever, funny nonetheless "Where's that monkey? I want to shoot something!"

Also all the coins were blown out of the cave by a storm. So the monkey is perma-undead.

Sorry... the movie came out like 3 years ago! And I don't think I ever saw that part...

If Dorma is going to give him these magical and mystical objects, wouldn't her first gift to Jack be some magical immunity ring rather then a jar of dirt?

I realize why she gave Jack a jar of dirt, but I guess I would assume that if this ring had any significance, it would have been shown a bit more then in the corner of your eye (as if he was stealing) when they're in Dorma's house.

well one must see the value of important little trinkets in the Pirates movies. In the first one the trinket was a coin, to undo the curse of Cortez's gold. In the second, Jack's compass is what will lead them to the heart of Davy Jones, and what would have freed Will and Elizabeth from the noose. I imagine that in the third one something will come be found to be significant that was otherwise thought useless. For instance, Jack's compass wouldn't have been given a second thought in the first film, but you saw that Jack had it, and he wouldn't leave it (or anything he owns, pistol, hat, and compass). So therefore we can conclude that there will be something else in the storyline of the third film that will be important, I'm guessing the ring. I think him stealing it was a hint.

Side note: Or it couldn't be significant at all and they really sail to the Underworld and bring Jack back.

lolz that was fny

but yes about jack willingly going in the kraken's mouth iz a mystery. It has to do something with that ring. i guess we'll just find out in tha third movie.

And i do want to kno how barbossa was summoned bak 4rm tha dead. I mean the only one who cud do somethin like that iz that swamp lady. Remmber how she was like do u wanna try and find jack and blah blah blah.

very interesting theories there

:D

Alright I'm positive this is the realy reason how Barbossa is alive. When Jack dies and they crew goes to the old lady that Jack steals the ring from, they tell her about how Jack got eaten and she says you have to sail to the ends of the world to get him back (hence the objective in the 3rd movie) and then they say something like how do we do that? Then she says you have to have someone that has already been there and then Barbosa walks down so he is going to be the captain on the next sail or adventure or w.e and lead them to there.

AHAH! I feel so smart.

I agree with the ring theory.. There has to be something significant about it.

Oh, and there is NO way that there won't be Jack in the third one... Jack is Pirates... so.. yeah. He'll be in it.

It'll probably be something along the lines of following the ones searching for Jack and also following Jack trying to escape, or something.
