View Full Version : COD4 glitch/cheating?

I just wanted to know if anyone has had any issues with COD4 lately where you basically have died for "no reason". I was reading a Halo 3 thread about cheating and wondered if somehow the same type of garbage was happening with COD4 or not.
Twice in the past week I have been in public matches and when I got killed by someone I respawn (note at a different part of the map) and I'm going about my business when suddenly I die again. No shot or anything.. Just death. So I watch the kill cam and it shows the same person that killed me before just basically doing nothing.. just walking around or whatever.. no where near me, total opposite end of the map, etc.
Could be a glitch with the game... problem with xbox live servers, etc.. but IDK.. figured I'd ask if anyone else has had this happen or has heard of anything like this.

yeah-- true-- it'll say that on the "kill list" (rundown, whatever its called) though- This just showed me getting killed with a gun again.. it was odd.. I thought about all possible causes but couldnt think of one.. and what threw me off was the kill cam showing the same person just walking.. not shooting or anything

Possibly the cam was showing someone who earned an assist?

ive heard people complaining about it but havent had it happen to me. If you ask me i think its laggy servers they run shoot you kill cam is lagging behind with the troubles that xbox has been having. im almost certain its due to technical difficulties

you see i thought you meant real glitches like the window on crash that you can jump into and shoot out of but be immune o.O (its by the USMC spawn) or going on the rooves on the overgrown map, or even the closed off staircase you can jump onto the crawl up in prone into the closed off building in bloc o.O

sounds interesting. it probably is just lag though.

going on the rooves on the overgrown map
The Devs have commented that, while it's technically a glitch, it's a "legal" one that they won't be fixing. It doesn't give you any unfair advantage (other than maybe a better line of sight). You can still easily get shot.

I have already heard of some possible hacking that has been going around but its more like CS hacks such as all headshots or hard to kill but I haven't had that glitch of someone being able to kill me like that yet but lagging is an issue.

Can you link to your source on that one? If this is true, this means we can go onto that roof/area in competition, according to GameBattles policy of following Developer statements/rules/designations, etc.

Not sure if this is really something that can even be considered realistic. While yes, it is physically possible to design and code such a thing, the delivery and injection (of dll's.. don't ask.) methods for such a thing would be so advanced for such a system as the Xbox 360, with Xbox Live and all that.
PC? Yeah, it is already widespread and easy to do.
Xbox 360? Unlikely, but still possible. Probably? I am doubtful anyone would even go to the trouble to do it.

They mentioned it during the BETA. It was during the time they were putting killzones for other glitches.
People were complaining about the roofs and other glitches. They killzoned glitches like getting out of the map on Vacancy, and left the roofs alone. People complained were complaining about it in some thread and someone quoted the devs saying that they killzoned glitches and why the roofs were left alone was because getting on the roofs or walking along a fence doesn't make you un-killable.
I'll try to find it again.
