ok so i get on today and it signs me in just fine. next thing i do is hit the guide button, and when i did it said i was not signed in. at the same very moment it said i had like 21 friends online. so i fought with that for honestly 30min, and then i called xbox. they said the same message " we are having current network problems...bla bla bla.. wait an hour." so i did, and the same thing was going on. also none of the system blades would load. then randomly, i was able to sign in on COD4, but the host ended the game ( of course ) and sent me back to my own party. then it said that i needed a working connection to play online or system link games. augh !!! but right now, it is stable, i reset my router and did all i think i could do to try and make it work. still laging a bit and unable to connect to some games. anyone else experiencing this? any help?

I have that same Issue. I called tech support yesterday and they said that some of their servers were down because of the holiday season. I got on today and tried to recover my account (I havent been able to do that the past 5 days because of Xbox Live Network issues error). I noticed that notice was removed from their site today , so I called again and I noticed that they removed a notice on their phone support thing about the issues.
Anyways, the guy said they are upgrading some of the servers in various states, and the reason why the notice was removed from the site was because most of the servers are fixed, but not all.
The time frame I was given was tonight, and he said to call if I was still having issues.
The update is not anything console related, it's more of server side. Expanding their network to allow more users.

About 4-5 days ago I tried to log on and it said I had to change my gamer tag, but it wouldn't let me sign in to do so. After almost 2 hours on the phone with xbox they had no idea what is wrong with my profile and told me they had to get "the xbox live team" on it. I still haven't heard back from them, and as of now, I am still profile-less!:cussing:

i signed in today and i had a naked dwarf with a santa hat run across my screen, so yeah something is definately wrong. lol i have had the same issues for 2 days already the dashboard loads for like 5 minutes.

I got that error when I was trying to recover. First it said it didnt exist, then after a couple more try's it said I had to change it...
I guess Microsoft has a couple of servers that they are working on in our area from what the guy from MS said.

Xbox Live has been really messed up for me since the Fall Dash Update.. (this most recent one, in November or December).
I called MS and explained most of the issues I've been having with signing in.. I have to do a network test, then try to sign in for it to work. The network test works 100% (ICMP is a tad slow to finish testing.., but that is to be expected), and then I can sign into Live. If I simply try to sign in to Live FIRST, it doesn't work.
It (almost?) seems as though the network test is clearing a cache or something, possible releasing and renewing the DHCP connection.
Whatever is going on with it, it is making me mad. They called back a few times, and haven't called back for over a week now. I'm somewhat disappointed over this, considering I was speaking to some "lead tech" or something, someone from the Xbox Live team directly.
Sigh.

Yeah once you sign in on the dashboard I had to wait forever for this loading circle never happened to me before. Than I was play Halo team slayer ranked and lagged out of 2 games right away with my team. They were mad at me but I never lag out of games it was so wierd! I was mad but didnt lose my level hehe.
I think it might be because everyone is off for the new years so what better to do then go on xbox live. :)

it's so annoying cause there talkign and everyone else can hear them but me !

Dude...I had the same dwarf but it had a New Years baby top hat on too funny. I had connection problems yesterday night though.

yeah to clear the cache and remove updates from the xbox you go into the system blade, click memory, hit "y" to bring up device options, then enter this: X,X,LB,RB,X,X then click ok. it makes it run faster, but you can only do it a few times then it is as good as it will get.

and now 2 friends can not sign in at all, it says that they never had an xbl account!!! OMG !!! wow this is really getting out of hand.

yeah i signed in tonight and that same dwarf moonwalked:walk: across the screen holding a sign that said " heeheehee owww:yahoo: we are up and going now:hacker: have fun and a good new year you silly goose." it was wierd cause i was sitting there in a goose outfit while my wife was listening:music: to thriller in a leather jacket with zippers all over it. really wierd.

yeah i know there will be new people getting on XBL, but it would seem that they gave them away to anyone who wanted one. i can't ever remember it being this bad last year.

what sucks is that tons of new memberships for xmas and tons of update downloads, also on top of that the fall update. so these issues are expected. we should all be up and going soon xbox seems to have a good turn around time. Think where we were this time last year. I was walking to the bathroom eating a turkey hero while listening to welcome to the jungle by guns and roses.
