I would post their. ALLOT! Not on is the matrix a great movie but i could see it turning into a future religion

Many of the ideas found in the movie were based off of different religions, such as Buddhism and Christianity.

Yes, I agree it is the best movie of our time, Mainly because all of the other movies are remakes and rip offs. It has the best storyline sense Star Wars . Very deep, it allows you to see the story but have many different ways of interpreting the events and the future events of it. Like the "death of Neo" its good that they didn't it turn in to a money monger *Cough* Rocky *cough* but i wouldn't doubt that in another 5 years they will come up with a way for more movies like Matrix the Prequel because the Architect said there were many matrices and many Neos.

Yeah there is no way it became a "money machine"... The Wachowskis had the idea for a trilogy before they even finished writing the first one.

In the original script for the first Matrix, Cypher told Neo about the previous "One's", proving that the story line they had originally created continued through to the sequels.

How about some Matrix Geek trivia?

During the final fight between Neo and Smith in The Matrix Revolutions... some of the rain is actually falling "Matrix Code", signifing that the Matrix is litterally falling apart.

I saw this when I first saw Revolutions on the Imax... but its pretty easy to see if you just look for it.

I would agree if it weren't for The Matrix: Reloaded and The Matrix: Revolution, which messed the entire series up big time.

It seems like the Wachowsky brothers spent a lot of time with the original script, and when The Matrix become such a huge box-office hit, Warner Brothers persuaded them to create two new ones in a rather short amount of time.

The Matrix should've ended with the first one, and just have people think the rest for themselves.

I kinda agree with that, it's a little sad that such a promising movie, had to turn into a typical 3rd rate series, with only a few good scenes to barely carry it above water.

It's only in rare cases where a movie can pull off sequels effectively.

Btw, I would choose the blue pill...I like the artifical taste of a pizza too much.

I dono if it became "3rd rate", but I think the problem was that with the sequels became too "hardcore". First and formost, the Wachowskies are comic book writers, and this is greatly reflected in the Matrix series, which is both good and bad. I dont read a ton of comics, but I think ive read enough to say that it can be common place for unexplained events... which brings me to my point. The Matrix was originally conceived as a comic, but somehow in the process ended up as a movie, for better or for worse, and unfortunately I believe that the "comic book story" style was carried over into the movie a bit too much, which is what I believe is the problem with the sequels... that problem being unanswered questions. Why can Neo "single handedly" destory sentenels with his mind.... "The powers of the one extend beyond the Matrix" said the Oracle.... Huh? That is the best you can do? Half of the predictions made by fans were better than that. Ok, next up whats with Merv (The Merovingian).... Perseph. said that he was once like Neo... Ok this could be cool, maybe he was a previous One... Nope, all that is ever said is that he was once in love... ok fine, it seems like a cool twist at first, but then ends up being a "point prover" for the romance between Neo and Trinity. I could go on and on and on about unanswerd questions, or as Spock would say "logical conclusions" to seemingly simple quesions but I think what im trying to get at is that when the 2nd 2 movies in the trilogy were written the Wachowskies assumed that thier wide audience of Matrix fans would be way more accepting of a very analogous storyline... Despite all of my ranting, I thouroghly(sp?) enjoyed this Trilogy (plot holes in all)... Besides who knows, The Wachowskies are big forum readers, maybe it was written this way just to spark conflict and discussion on forums all across the world... just like it has here ;)

Ahh well, it was a fun trilogy to watch, and I dont think anyone could ask for anything more than that.

EDIT: Woah... I wrote a lot more than I had originally intended, sorry :o

Another thing regarding The Matrix, at the end of the original one Neo was able to defy the rules of the entire Matrix, ressurect himself and pretty much kicks everyone's FunnyBunnyFunnyBunnyFunnyBunny. Somehow, he still managed to be beaten half to death dozens of times in the sequels - and this varies from scene to scene. Did the writers use Dungeons&Dragons dice to determine how bada.. he's going to be in each scene?
And a lot of the deep speeches in the 2nd one seems to be disregarded in the 3rd movie, so the last two ones hardly make sense.

Oh, and if the Matrix was real, why use humans? Use cows. They produce more power, and they are less likely to rebel. I doubt that the machines can feel any joy by tormenting humans anyways, concidering that they're... well... machines.

I say the Wachowski's enjoy the taste of raw manure in the morning.
