The shock/rumble feature has been removed. Official word is that it was removed because it interferes with the motion sensor but it's more likely for legal reasons (Immersion's patent infringement lawsuit against Sony.)
I probably wouldnt get used to that

I think it's a real shame that they've removed the rumble feature, I think that rumble adds a new dimension to games (probably more than the tilt-mechanism they traded it in for) when it's used properly. Call of Duty 2 is a great example of how rumble should be used.
But I don't want to judge the PS3 controller just yet, it all depends on how the developers decide to use the new feature. It seems like a slight Wii ripoff, and I'd much rather just go out and buy a Wii.
One thing I'll give to Sony is their d-pad - it's way superious to the Xbox's d-pad.

Sony should have just payed royalties like Microsoft and Nintendo (not 100% sure if Nintendo was included in the lawsuit). If that is a spelling mistake on the actual controller: I love it!

Nintendo is the one that had Immersion make the system in the first place IIRC. (N64's Rumble Pak was the first use of it).
But yeah, MS decided to settle out of court, and it paid off in my opinion.
