View Full Version : Boy Saves Sister from Moose Attack with Skills Learned in Warcraft Video Game

This 12 year-old Norwegian boy saved his sister and himself from a moose attack using skills he picked up in the online role playing game 'World of Warcraft.'

Hans Jørgen Olsen and his sister got into a spot of trouble when they encroached on the territory of one of these antlered cold weather staples (otherwise known as a moose). When the beast went on the offensive, Hans knew the first thing he had to do was taunt it so that it would leave his sister alone and she could run to safety. "Taunting" is a move one uses in World of Warcraft to get monsters off of the less-well-armored team members.

Once he was a target, Hans remember another skill he'd picked up at level 30 in 'World of Warcraft' -- he feigned death. The moose lost interest in the inanimate Hans and wandered off into the woods. When he was safely alone Hans ran back home to share his tale of video game-inspired survival.

Make fun of video games all you want, but if one can teach you a skill that saves your (and your sister's) life, then we'd say that was a video game worth playing.

I not sure this is a hundred percent true, sounds a bit fishy to me. Still, quite funny.

Yes cause we all know the way to fend off a moose is to make odd noises and taunt it.....

I'm sure the story is true, 'cause I've seen it just about everywhere..

However, surely you cant thank WoW for teaching a kid to wave a stick at something and play dead :p. Thats called being smart!

playing wow doesnt mean your stupid wow is a fun game it just gets boring after awhile just like every other game and he may think he learned those skills from a game but thats just basic instinct not sure if i would have pretended to be dead right off the bat but it would have to come mind eventually

no playing wow doesnt make you stupid because i played wow, but what makes you stupid is makin it your life, never leaving your computer for a week because your raiding and you need your last piece of epic gear. thats what makes you stupid, i mean peoples boyfriends and girlfriends break up with them because they play too much. ive heard of people getting divorces because of wow. its fun but in moderation.

Games=fun
Playing games with great people=more fun
Being good while playing with great people=even more fun
Going broke and losing everything, family, lover etc. because you just wanted that one last headshot to FINALLY get the Golden AK-47, the last one you "need" to have all golden weapons, for Prestige 10and breaking the world record=obessed, addiction, and a serious medical problem.....

Play the game, don't let it play you, cuz it'll always win on Legendary......and Veteran.

Or the whole thing could be common sense

Black Capone
01-14-2008, 07:31 PM
yea, but let's not forget how dumb some people really are, since some laws you'd find are really based off common sense....for example, what the hell are you doing touching an 11-year-old girl at 43?!!! The ****'s wrong with you?!!!!!

Yeah but because he played wow so much he probably just came to him quicker as it is something he did enough times. he probably could have thought it over like some one else said. But when something you do is around you enough you just pick it up and use it more. Like with me and wrestling (like highschool or college or Olympic wrestling.. not fake WWE CRAP!) I just got used to falling certain ways to lessen injury or to be able to get back up faster. Some people when they fall just go down like a rock while others are just acrobats and lessen the impact. Well I couldn't quite think of a great example but you get my drift.

Yeah I can see that. I got used to jumping by throwing my arms up from Crackdown lol

WoW imo is the spawn of satan. It ruined my relationship with my ex-fiance because he quit his job and stopped showering and didnt clean up after himself cuz all he did was eat, sleep, and play WoW. But even I have to admit this is pretty funny
