Hi everybody!
My wife, PMS Isis, told me that several people were interested in the medals that the Call of Duty 4 Prestige Medals are based on. Below is a PDF document that I created based on the information that I could find. The only one that I do not have information on is the medal that Prestige Level 6 is based on. If any of you know the name of the original medal, please let me know and I'll add it.
Hope you find it as interesting as I did!

(The folder is marked public, so should be open to everyone, but please let me know if unable to connect)

Here is the information for those that can't access the Acrobat file. I'm looking for another way to host the doc to make it accessible to all. The PDF file includes pictures of all of the medals.
Prestige 1 - Commendation Medal
"The Commendation Medal is a mid-level United States military award which is presented for sustained acts of heroism or meritorious service. For valorous actions in direct contact with an enemy force, but of a lesser degree than required for the award of the Bronze Star Medal, the Valor device ("V" device) may be authorized as an attachment to the decoration." - www.Wikipedia.org
Prestige 2 - Vietnam Campaign
"The Vietnam Campaign Medal is a military recognition awarded for service in South Vietnam. Established in 1966, the decoration is a service medal of the Vietnam war and was the most commonly bestowed foreign military award to the United States military personnel prior to the Gulf War. The Vietnam Campaign Medal is awarded to any member of the United States or allied military force who completed at least six months of duty in the Republic of Vietnam between the dates of March 1, 1961 and March 26, 1961." - www.Wikipedia.org
Prestige 3 - RVN Staff Service Medal
"Awarded for staff service to the Armed Forces evidencing outstanding initiative and devotion to duty." - www.dtic.mil
“To be awarded the Vietnam Staff Service Medal, a service member must have performed at least six months of military duty, while serving on a military staff, with such performance being above and beyond that which would normally be required for the position.” – www.Wikipedia.org
Prestige 4 - Legion of Merit
"The Legion of Merit is a military decoration of the United States armed forces that is awarded for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements. The decoration is issued both to United States military personnel and to military and political figures of foreign governments. The award is given for service rendered in a clearly exceptional manner. Performance of duties normal to the grade, branch, specialty or assignment, and experience of an individual is not an adequate basis for this award. For service not related to actual war, the term "key individual" applies to a narrower range of positions than in time of war and requires evidence of significant achievement. In peacetime, service should be in the nature of a special requirement or of an extremely difficult duty performed in an unprecedented and clearly exceptional manner. However, the award may be justified by exceptionally meritorious service in a succession of important positions." - www.Wikipedia.org
Prestige 5 - Kuwait Liberation Medal
"The Saudi Arabian version of the Kuwait Liberation Medal is awarded to members of the Coalition Forces who participated in Operation Desert Storm and the liberation of Kuwait between the dates of January 17, 1991 and February 28, 1991." - www.Wikipedia.org
Prestige 6
No Information available. If someone could provide me with some more information of value about this medal, that would be great. - Thanks.
Prestige 7 - Distinguished Flying Cross
"The Distinguished Flying Cross is a medal awarded to any officer or enlisted member of the United States armed forces who distinguishes himself or herself in combat in support of operations by "heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in an aerial flight, subsequent to November 11, 1918." The decoration may also be given for an act performed prior to that date when the individual has been recommended for, but has not received the Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross, Air Force Cross or Distinguished Service Medal." - www.Wikipedia.org
Prestige 8 - RVN Civil Actions Medal
"For outstanding achievements in the field of civic action." - www.dtic.mil
“In the United States armed forces, the Vietnam Civil Actions Unit Citation was most often awarded to units of the United States Marine Corps which had participated in local police actions to suppress civil unrest in certain areas of South Vietnam.” – www.Wikipedia.org
Prestige 9 – RVN Wound Medal
For military personnel who had been wounded in action and to government officials wounded in the line of duty by the enemy or rebels.
“During the Vietnam War, the Vietnam Wound Medal was often issued to ARVN (Army of the Republic of Vietnam) personnel for combat wounds received fighting the forces of North Vietnam or the Vietcong. The decoration was seldom bestowed upon members of allied militaries (such as the United States military) and then only if the allied soldier in question was attached and under the direct command of a South Vietnamese unit.” – www.Wikipedia.org
Prestige 10 - Navy Cross
"The Navy Cross is the second highest medal that can be awarded by the Department of the Navy and the second highest award given for valor. The Navy Cross may be awarded to any member of the armed forces while serving with the Marine Corps, Navy, or Coast Guard (in time of war only) that distinguishes himself in action by extraordinary heroism not justifying an award of the Medal of Honor." - www.Wikipedia.org

lt would be funny if you got it by taking a thrown grenade, picking it up, and running away from your nearest teammates in COD4, died while doing so, and ending with you being the only one dying by the grenade.

You gotta do it! I'm on my 5th pass through and I keep losing all the guns I like, and the camo's i've earned, but I gotta tell you its like a good drug getting all those challenges over and over... and the thing is I find myself concentrating on different guns each pass through.. so (I believe) in the end it makes you a better overall player cause you can use anything
