Seeing as I'm 360-less for a while I've been playing some of my older games. One game that has got me completely hooked right now is Chrono Trigger. It's an RPG made by Square in 1995 so it's got that old-school Final Fantasy style about it. Basically you find yourself travelling through portals to different time periods and you discover that you need to alter the course of history to avoid an apocalypse (Armageddon lol) I was trying out a collection of Super Nintendo games and I decided to try sample as many as I could...but when I got to playing Chrono Trigger I found that "a few minutes tryout" had turned into a 6 hour sesh and I am typing this now having had no sleep at all :s I love how it plays and I've already built up my character to a level 12 and aquired my lightning magic. Playing Final Fantasy XI on 360 has definitely helped me appreciate RPGs more. More sleepless nights on the horizon.

That's awesome. I love retro games, regardless of whether they were released before I was born.

So far I've played Chrono Trigger for 11 hours and I am battling Magus after storming his castle and taking out his cronies....WooHoo!! I've built up 4 of the 5 characters (the robot; I appropriately named ED209 I didn't really use) so I have the Masamune sword, some amazing magic combos and I've got to grips with how to use them effectively. I'm really enjoying playing this game and hope to complete it very soon...it must be near the end now.
On another note, while playing Chrono Trigger I have been playing Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza on the PC and last night I completed it and sent Hans Gruber flying through the window and to his death....serves him right...dirty terrorist. Even though the game isn't graphically stunning (especially on my PC) it stays very true to the movie with only a handfull of instances that weren't in the movie. Yippee Ki Yay Mofos!! Gotta love that sense of satisfaction and achievement.
