Hey anyone else listen to metal like children of bodom, death, and behemoth?

hmm... i love metal..... but I listen to LOTS of different things. My favorite type of metal is a little different than your style, I really love killswitch engage. Don't know what you'd consider them, but I think they're great. I used to like a few death metal bands but don't listen to them too much lately. I just like good straight up rock mostly. AC/DC, Rise Against, Avenged Sevenfold (not so crazy about the newest album, still not sure) old thrice, AFI, some punk like rancid, anti-flag, and the misfits.

I like Project 86, avenged 7-fold, older megadeth, not much for metallica anymore...like anything with a nice grungy guitar...

No death metal for me, nor extremely strong metal. Lyrics are important to me.

I'm more of a fan of the symphonic/melodic metal out there, a lot of which comes from finland. I made a thread about my 2 favorite groups earlier (Sonata Arctica and Avantasia), but nobody seemed to respond. You can see that thread below if you want the videos.

Avantasia recently came out with a new album, too. Less of a power metal record and more of a rock/metal mix. I love it. Tobias Sammet is my favorite singer ever (and I say that as a proud straight man before anyone jokes!)

lol yea actually dethklok played near where I live, I wish I had gone though. I thought it was only for university students since it was at a university.

Cant believe no one mentioned In Flames or Amon Amarth. Throw some Carpathian Forest, Strapping Young Lad and a 'lil DevilDriver in there and you got yourself a pretty brutal playlist.

Has anyone here ever heard of Diamond Head?

They are mega old school, 1970's but they're such a awesome band. They influenced Metallica so if your a fan of them, check Diamond Head out!

Are you joking me? I don't think I listen to anything else on my metal days. I'm not a huge fan of CoB's latest album though but the first time I heard "Hate Me" live, I was hooked. I'd say they, along with Unearth, we're probably the entire reasons I got into metal in the first place.

I wouldn't... really... consider Marilyn Manson metal. 'sorta falls more into industrial than metal. I mean if you want to compare Marilyn Manson to sayyy... Evergreen Terrace and say it's close to that than to like... Nine Inch Nails or Rammstein then go right ahead but... calling MM metal is like calling an oreo a cracker ; it's similar but people are gonna still be like... "...really? ...seriously?"
