Most movie based games are pretty not good. I'm willing to bet this is the same, unless proven otherwise.

Not quite, Escape from Butcher Bay was based in a Sci-Fi world, and off of characters from a movie. The plot of the game, however, was not pulled from a script and the game was not being made with the movie reps breathing down their necks.
In any case, you are correct, that game was very good.

You are both wrong.
The Riddick game was a sequel to the first game and movie.. I forget the name of it though. =/
The second Riddick MOVIE was based off of the game.
Besides which, if this is the actual Beowolf story, as in the ancient one, then both the game and the movie are based off of a super old story, and not each other.

The movie was kind of too Hollywood'ed for me. It wasn't bad, though.. but I dont think I'd ever want to play a game based on it.
And for the record, the real story of Beowulf isn't really "ancient"-- it wasn't uncovered in egyptian ruins or anything.. It was written by Shakespeare. Its the longest poem published by man-- yes, Poem, not a book or story (though the poem tells a story). Just for clarification sake.
I would say that the game is based on the movie, but the movie is based on the literature. The graphics in the game are meant to mimic those of the movie, though, so I imagine its straying even farther away from the real story of Beowulf. Its a shame that they had to make it PG13 and comedic, because it would be a killer rated AO movie if they just stuck to the script.

Beowulf was written by anonymous, i'm pretty sure. We had to read it last year.
