As soon as Peter Jackson signed on as producer, I was 115% sure it wouldent be a low budget film. With Peter Jackson on board that means whoever is making it has acces to WETA, (Jackson's CGI studio) which is prolly one of the better ones out there.

I dont think it matters who does the acting for MC, just the voice... Bungie said that MC would never take his Helmet off, and since Halo is their baby, I doubt they'll let MC take his helmet off in the Movie. As long as they get the guy who does the voice in Halo, Halo 2, and the upcoming Halo 3, i'll be sound as a pound.

I remember a while back Bungie said they wrote a "Bible" of the Halo Universe that had all of the rules that anyone who made "spinoffs" had to go by, and im pretty positive that MC not taking his Helmet off would be part of it.

Back when Halo 1 came out they said that they would never take MC's Helmet off because it would immediately alienate some group of people, and since during the game you "are" MC the last thing they would want to do is alienate some group of people.

A little interesting tidbit from that article is, Earlier this month we were told by Associated Press that Washington had flown down to visit Peter Jackson in New Zealand. Jackson, as most already know, is signed up for Halo as Executive Producer.
So according to that he's in talks to be in this movie, so who knows?

But I don't think he would be suited for the role of the beloved MC. Why wouldn't they just get a bodybuilder and use Steve Downes to voice over, like Darth Vader.

I personally think their keeping the director choice under-wraps, since if they still don't have a director by know I very highly doubt the movie will have a 2007 release date. Especially with all of the effects needed for this movie, that will take a lot of time.

This movie definitely is not a low budget flick, it has a supposed 75 million dollar budget.

On IMDB they have a release date of 2008, which seems much more attainable.
On the special ed. of the Matrix Trilogy, it was said that it took over 1 year to render all of the CG for the movie, and thats not the building of the scences and all that other crap, that was after they had created all of the scenes and all that was left was rendering... YIKES. While the Halo movie wont be as massive as the Matrixes were CG wise, it'll still take a heck-uv-a long time to create all the CG stuff... unless they use animatronics, which I hope they dont. I know I dont wanna see an 8 foot puppet of an elite dancing on stage for 2 hours.

True, True... My guess is that it'll follow either the first Halo's Storyline, or it'll do kind of a combo of Halo 1 and Halo 2. Im sure it will be CG heavy though, unless some one has built a life size Halo to film on.

Then prepare to be disappointed. It's a big Hollywood movie, so MC will most likely be played by some big star. Big stars tend to attract big $$ at the box office, even if the movie sucks.

While my fiance thought that is was for the Sarge role, It makes sense that it was for the master chief role since he's a pretty huge actor. Considering it's a video game movie, i don't see them having denzel as the sarge, then some other big name as master chief.

BUT, I would love it if Samuel L Jackson played the Sarge, and I guess it doesn't matter much who plays master chief. Bruce Willis would be cool if they took the helmet off. Oh and how many times has that guy posted to say the same thing; that they better use the voice over guy from the game? They won't do that unless it's a CGI film like FF:Spirits within, and with Jackson involved the chances of that are slim. Unless they only CGI MC and the covenant, but even then the chances of them using the video game voice actors is slim, why? Because it's Hollywood.

The helmet removing stunt is a stunt Hollywood would pull. I don't care who makes the movie, it's still possible that it happens. Only the "omg I read the books I know everything about Halo, I'm so kool" people say it can't happen because it doesn't happen in the books. I hate to burst your bubble, but we aren't talking about the books. We're talking about a Hollywood movie. 1)Hollywood movies are NEVER exactly like the book. 2) Hollywood movies are always full of stunts to attract people and to set it apart from what ever it's based on.

How do you know actors are full of themselves? Have you talked to one, or are you basing your opinion on what someone has told you/what you've seen/heard on TV?

There are TONS of actors who aren't "full of themselves." They're just laid back and no different than you or I. Then again. Just like us regular folk there are some who are full of themselves, but not all.

I don't think it'll matter who it will be, sure we might see a close up of his face (according to the supposed leaked script, which is suspiciously very much like the novels) but we won't be able to identify really with the actor, and if Bungie knows what they're doing, they won't show his face. If they can do it with Darth Vader for most of the Star Wars trilogy and with V in Vendetta, they can certainly do it with this movie.

I'm more curious to see who they choose for Sarge and the other cast.
