Well, I've been absolutely *dyingdyingdying* for a 360 since it came out, and now I will soon be able to finally get my hands on one! :yahoo: Just a few questions for you experienced 360ers out there:
Which system should I buy?
What accessories have you found ABSOLUTELY necessary?
Games that you find to be kick arse? I <3 most genres, so I'm open to a wide selection of suggestions.
Should I get hooked on GoW or H3...or both? ;)
I'm normally VERY much a PC gamer, but I would love to leap over to xbox. I feel like I'm missing out on fun!

Oh man so may qualifiers to go with that like budget, preferences, desire etc! But here is a few suggestions. I would go at least with the new premium systems that ship with an HDMI port. That why you have the optimal hd connection and you get a system with a hard drive so that you are able to download content and misc, plus its only 350 now which is nice! If you think you would download massive media, and content then the Elite is the way to go with a 120gb hard drive.
I haven't found any real must have accessories, unless you count an HD tv, digital surround sound, and a good chair accessories lol! The camera thing is kinda gimicky cool for now, maybe it will become more useful in the future. I take that back, make sure you have a wireless keyboard for your 360. Makes it a whole lot easier to type messages!
Games are of course up to preference. I probably would not buy GOW if I was just getting a system now, there are too many other great games just out or coming out to put my attention towards (halo3, COD4, assasins creed maybe, GH3/rockband (if you are in to that).

I'm really really stoked for GH3! In fact, that and Halo 3 are the top two must-have games for me. :D
As far as budget goes, I'm relatively open...I just ran into a decent chunk o' money. And I tend to download tons of crap. I uh, have 7 gig left on my hard drive on this PC. :3
Thanks for the reply! :D

well, I have most of my premiums hard drive full and I dl alot on my comp (1.2TB) I tend to not dl things on my 360 as they are overpriced, so I think the elite is only for people who use the vid marketplace, or just like the black case

If you d/l a lot, then the Elite is probably the system for you. As for games, COD2 & 4 (3 wasn't that good), Halo 3, Dead Rising is great stress relief, and Oblivion if you are into RPG. I would also invest in the rechargeable battery packs for the wireless controllers with a quick charge stand.

Mmmmm...I'd almost forgotten about Oblivion.
Well, after seeing the points for expensive...I'm not sure I could convince the husband it's worth it. ^_~ So far the Premium is winning out. Or maybe the Halo 3 edition. o.o
I'm so giddy. I can't wait! :D

I second the battery packs and also I use the plug and play thing a lot to which charges your batteries while you play. I do own the battery pack charger to,but its sometimes easier to charge while playing especially if you are in the middle of a game when you get the low bat lights.

I got mine about two weeks ago from Buy.com, if you've never ordered from them before you can get the new HDMI equipped premium bundle (Marvel/Motorsport) for 339.99 w/ no tax or shipping, takes about a week to get to you though.
Bioshock is a great single player game, as is Oblivion. The Orange Box is an incredible value, and Guitar Hero 3 for good times.

Ooohhh, Bioshock! One of my favorite games of all time now, but that could also be because I like the strange games lol. And if you love Guitar hero, you may just wait for Rockband. The whole set (drums, mic, guitar) is running like 170 I think. I saw it at E for All and seems kind of cool. If you have friends you like to play with, might be more fun way of having friends involved.

Rock Band's set list looks awesome! http://www.rockband.com/game_info/songlist Nine Inch Nails? Cool! Perhaps I will have to wait. ^_~

Ok, I work at Gamestop and personally I would buy the Premium Edition. It will suit all of your gaming needs without the extra cost and will satisfy anyone's gaming needs. If you want to download lots of movies or TV shows from Xbox Live Marketplace or are trying to play Final Fantasy XI, you should probably spring for the Elite with it's extra memory. Also, the Elite has HDMI support which is important to some people. Just out recently is the Xbox Arcade edition which comes with NO hard drive and jus at 256 MB memory card. It also comes with 5 arcade games including Uno, Pacman and I forget the rest. It all depends on what you're trying to get from your 360. If you're a casual gamer looking for some arcade action, the Arcade edtion will suit you just fine. For most people I recommend the middle package because it offers both hardcore gaming at an econimical price and packaging. You can accomplish most, if not all, of your gaming needs with the premium package, therefore I recommend that to anyone who wants a 360 to experience all it has to offer.

That bad eh?
Not really. Personally I see just as much of that behavior on Halo 3. >.<
You should check out Viva Pinata. I don't think it's very expensive and it's lots of fun. Oh, and no cursing pre teens. ;)

Eeee, I had almost forgot about Viva Pinata! I saw a really funny magazine ad on it the other day when a tear out portion at the bottom where one could pledge not to hurt any more pinatas. It was set up like a 'save the children' ad. ;)

I'd like to follow some of the other people's suggestions, and say a bit +1 to the Premium.
Elite is more for those who want utmost quality, and storage, out of their Xbox 360. The Halo 3 Xbox 360 is for those who are absolute Halophiles, want amazing quality, etc.. but it does not come with the larger HDD. If you just want a 360 for hopping online and fragging, don't have a massive HDTV, and won't be storing your lifelong music collection on the HDD, the Premium best suits you. (IMO, that is.)

Keke, I got the Halo edition. ;) And the Legendary Edition of Halo 3. The helmet now sits proudly on top of my TV cabinet. *GRINS*
