I am in the crysis beta now, but some reason i can't even play it. I installed it and no start icon for the game appears. So I am at a lost, anyone that is in the beta post here and let me know what I did wrong. Thanks

I played this with my old system (check it on my xfire profile...i uploaded my rig so ya'll can compare). Well I ran the game on medium at 1024x768 and it ran ...uh ok I guess. Lagged a bit. You really have to have a high end system to run this game. My system could barely handle this game, sections that would cut me down to 25 fps. I guess it will be a while before I buy this game lol. Oh and I think on vista with dx10 it would look smoother and prettier, just my .02

DX10 probably won't improve framerates a heck of a lot, sadly.
Even with my system i can't run the game much past medium, but ahhh it looks good. Here's a screen from my system.
Blur effect is because i'm aiming with the scope. Really good looking game def, i hear far cry 2 will be even better :-o

nvidia's new beta drivers increase crysis by 10 fps i hear. Beta demo for beta drivers LMAO
i think dx10 will make the game look nicer and probably give it a smoother feel all around....eventually though. This game reminds me of Doom 3, current hardware out at the time couldn't play the game much above high lol and you needed beta this and beta that. And then there was the hope that with dx9c the game would work better. LMAO history repeating itself....
but w/e it's still in beta, when we get a final product then my .02 will be worth .02 and not .00000573

PS: how come COD4 and UT3 work so nicely on my rig? I mean I'm glad crysis pushes the envelope, but I don't get why they make certain games so ahead of their time? I know for myself I won't buy the game just because it doesn't look too good on low settings (think mp not sp, where i need the fps). But w/e maybe I'll buy it play it on medium settings then when I upgrade I'll play it through again lol. That's what I'm doing with far cry and doom NOW LMAO bliss....
