Right now my house's wireless internet problem has gone to new scales of annoyance. Well the internet was working fine few days ago but recently every computer in the house has been unable to connect to the modem and have a stable connection to the internet because we can't get the internet.

We are all using wireless internet adapters and we have restarted the PCs, refreshed the connections, re-installed wireless adapter drivers, resetted the Wireless modem, I even re-installed my OS just for the heck of it since I am overdue for one and that didn't work.

Even my dad is a bit annoyed of whats going on but he doesn't really use the internet but 4/5 people living in the house do.

So any ideas what might be wrong?

I got a Motorola Wireless Modem and we are using Road Runner, our wireless adapters varies from Linksys to Motorola to Dell.

Have there been any new appliances introduced to the house recently, and do you live in an apartment complex? One of my friends recently experienced a problem similar to this, and eventually discovered that it was her microwave. For some reason it interrupted any device that worked on the 2.4Ghz band. She switched to Wireless G, and that seemed to have resolved the problem, even though it's still 2.4Ghz.

From what I've learned while researching this with her, a large number of newer cordless phones can cause these same problems, in large enough quantities.

I hope that this helps!

Good luck with your wireless, I hope you get it taken care of soon.

One thing you can do is download NetStumbler (best on a laptop if you have one that you can walk around with). NetStumbler will show you the signal quality and any ambient noise. If you see a high percentage of wireless noise you can walk around with the laptop to see if you can find when the noise gets greater to help discover where it is being generated. Or you can watch the wireless signal to see if it fluctuates at all, you wireless router may be bad. Not much of a fan of Motorola AP's myself.

That definitly seems to be one of the problems that could be affecting your signal. What happens to your modem and router when you cannot connect? What lights are you getting? Are you getting a message on your computer "limited or no connectivity". And how old is your house? There are many things that could be wrong. How about when your wireless signal goes out try and connect using a ethernet cord or usb cord and see if your are still able to get online. If not bypass the router and connect directly to the modem and see if you are getting a signal, But post any error msg you get or what you have done so far. I will try to help out the best I can.
