I have just played, in a month, all three Phoenix Wright games, back to back!
I've played a LOT of games, and a lot of different genres, on different consoles. And I have to conclude, that this series is one of my absolute favourites!
Yes, the graphics are indeed, pap - these games are slight upgrades from GBA games of the late nineties, so they're nothing special to look at (apart from Edgeworth, what a schmexy person he is)
However, I'm the type that values enjoyment far above aesthetics, and so the text based point and clickyness of this game wracks my brains, and frustrates me just the right amount to have me thoroughly and completely engrossed in the PW world. I mean 3 games in a month, I've never ever been addicted to a series so much! The only thing I can liken the feeling to is when you're reading a really exciting book - which in a manner of speaking, you are - but in this case you're interacting, your actions dictate the outcome!
The music also, is really surprisingly good, and makes up for the lack of voice-acting. It's atmospheric, and fits to whatever situation you're in.
The characters - well... The main characters are well-rounded, you get to learn juicy hints to their backgrounds, reasons for their mannerisms. This game is also a slasher's paradise!!!
Some of the minor characters, the accused, the witnesses etc, are seriously ANNOYING!! The mannerisms, the ways of talking *sigh* get off my DS, more EDGEWORTH.
Anyways, I'm blabbering. Just BUY IT! BUY IT NOW!!
