Don't know if this posted as of yet, if so go ahead and delete this thread. But I kinda hope they follow the trend and move into 3d. I know they did once before and was kinda a failure, but if they used an engine similar to virtua fighter or tekken, I could see some success.

They said its going to have 3D graphics, but 2D Gameplay similar to that of SF2. Basically that means, probably no interactive environments, or 360 degree turning. I, for one, am happy with that.. 2D Fighters have always had the best gameplay (in my opinion), but its hard to play them when they're so ugly. Best of both worlds, if you ask me.

I am sooo happy to see that SF4 is finally coming out!! I want it to stay in a 2D style. I don't think SF is one of those games you can turn into a 3D game (think Castlevania and SF EX lol ) The trailer looks awsome and I am going to post in their forum section about what I think of it. Opinions needed I was told. so please post here on your thoughts on the trailer. I hope my arcade gets the beta version like they did for SF3 3rd strike-if there is arcade version.

God this series multiple 2 and 3s, but damn it is a great series. I love the art if they are keeping it.

l really can't wait for the next Street Fighter. l don't think it should go 3D, unless they can pull it off.

I'm glad with the 2-D/3-D....(23D?) graphics of the game. I didn't really like the character selection in 3rd strike that much, lets just hope nobody will be using Ken too much lol.
I really like the style the trailer was done in, but it doesn't really give me much of an idea as to what the game will look like to play :(

no release date yet. I was told sometime in Fall of 08. I am excited and am ready for a divison for this when it comes out ^_^

3D characters in a 2D space? Sounds like a reworking of the "Street Fighter EX plus a" series. those were ok games but never really lived up to the SF legacy. Still, I can't wait for this.

Definitely it should stay 2D. Nothing can touch the game play we had from such greats as SF2 or Marvel vs Capcom 2. They were just enough complex for the seasoned veteran, but still enjoyable for the new players. VF and Tekken are great games but unless you have the mind of Einstein and can memorize all the moves for different characters, it gets dull quick. I think SC4 is the only true 3d game that works. But still cant wait for SF4.

l don't know why, but l hated SF2, but l LOVED SF3. Everytime l tried to play SF2, l never really got into it, but SF3: Third Strike on the Xbox was great!!!!! l loved the game, once l got used to it, and it was a great challenge on the highest setting! l just hope SF4 is nothing like the gameplay of SF2, or l won't buy it.
