This is a poem I wrote to my Monk3y. We are going through some hard times with his family right now. Some of you know the story already. To those who don't, be glad.
My heart aches with pain of the day
I look over to you, to reassure me it will be okay
You kiss my forehead gently and pull me near
You tell me “Everything will be okay dear”
I try to believe you as I look around
I try to fight my feelings, but a tear falls to the ground
With all that is going on, with all that is bad
It’s hard to believe you, hard to be glad
But I fight my feelings of grief, hold them in
I hug you close, so I don’t get condemned of a sin
You are my savior, the one that keeps me strong
Without you in my life everything would be wrong
I put up with the pain, put up with it for you
I know if I didn’t I’d lose you and not know what to do
One day dear promise me this
You’ll make it all better so we can live is bliss
