I decided to take a break from setting off fireworks right now. Five minutes ago, while I was trying to light a firecracker, my brother started saying something. Me, being a dumbass, looked towards him, and the lighter missed about a good few inches right into my thumb. The flaming inferno was in there for about three seconds, which I am pretty sure will turn into a scar.

I've been pretty lucky with fireworks, this being the only real injury I've had. How about yours?

Fireworks aren't legal in Maine? Are Maine politicians communist?

And it stung at first and whatnot. But it hurt worse after I got the skin off.

Man that sucks :( There's worse though. Some teenager got 3rd degree burns in a firework injury (http://tboblogs.com/index.php/newswire/comments/teen_seriously_injured_by_firecracker_in_pants/).

I'm pretty much terrified of sparklers and stuff so I've never gotten the chance to get injured. Haha

Closest I've ever gotten to a firework injury was a couple of years back on New years, some moron managed to tip over the bottle that the rocket was standing in, so it was shot right towards me. But, thank to my mad drunken rocket-dodging skills, I dodged the rocket, and it hit some girl instead (it went down the back of her dress and exploded, pretty nasty s***).

I have a newspaper article from a while back where some dumbass put a m-80 in a coke bottle, and then put his thumb over the top of it... POW, goodbye thumb.

My dad makes me read it everytime i wanna set of fireworks.

Also, one time my friend and I were setting off bottle-rockets out of our hands, and my stupid friend held the stick part too tight and it exploded in his hand... it wouldent have been so bad, except he had just spilled gas all over his hands... luckily the gas burned off without burning him... yeah, we were dumb... gas + fireworks - braincells = disaster. Lesson learned.

For anyone that didnt notice, a firecracker explodes in the middle. So if you hold it by the very very bottom of it wont mess up your fingers. I know this because i had one explode in my hand and my dad showed me to hold it by the bottom.

My caretaker told me a story of when they were younger they lit off some firecrackers, but his brother had a pocketful of them and somehow his pants caught on fire from another firecracker he lit (I don't know how that could happen). Anyway, he was trying to get his pants off as quickly as he could, but he didn't do it in time and he blew a chunk out of his thigh. Ouch!

Do you want to see around 3.2 million firecrackers explode? Check this out: http://www.break.com/index/ultimate_firework.html

Also the night where I burnt meselfs, I lit a fuse that was very small, on some firecrackers, and tossed it. The firecrackers exploded right when they left my hand. Close, too close.
