Well, you see the thing about that is that even though you may find it insulting, someone (maybe even a guy) would like to play something of that type. I mean you never know. You say its lame because You are not into that kind of game, and i bet alot of the girls will say its stupid, because they once agian are not into that kind of thing. Well hey you have to look at it in another way. they probably think woman gamers of the genre WE play is lame.

Yes. Ultimately...I find it sexist, degrading, and insulting. This is just one more example of our commercialized society sticking to the old views of women, and what they seem to believe our "purpose" is. How, might I ask, do they expect our society to change and grow if they continue to make stuff like this? How do they expect women to feel equal? This is just one more thing that the industry is using to degrade the image of women in this society. It is honestly already hard to be accepted in this world as a woman. Don't get me wrong, we have all come a long way than how it used to be, but still it can be difficult because of things like this. The act of equality still has a long way to go (as always)....and this sort of thing just angers me.

Well, if we start talking about equality there really is no such thing. The constitution states that all men are equal. Is that only men? or is that only white men? different cultures/races get treated different so therefore we cannot be equal. Yes, you are right women have come along way from, not being able to have jobs or have educations. but racism, sexism, and all the other ISM's will always be around no matter what we do. We as a small community of a big world just have to adapt to it, beat it at its own game.

Well, this is a professional community, so I guess they will be beaten at their own game :)
But anyways, I don't find it insulting. To me it looks like something a little girl would like. My neice seen the screenshot there and said she wants it. She's 5, close to 6. Older women may find it offensive, but think of what a little girl would think. Think of what type of games you're little kids would like. I'd say this game is meant for young kids, not adults, or even teens. Although anyone would be welcome to play.

Is that for real? Seems like a joke to me. Anyways if it is indeed real, it doesn't surprise me since there are being created by Lifetime. And since they are supposed to be launched on Lifetime.com, it seems they are targeting older women who visit their site, not actual female gamers.

Older women might want something like that for their children, which is why I think it's main target is young girls. Their parents probably wouldn't want them playing something like GoW (no idea why they wouldn't since it's such a good game) so they would like having those type of games for their kids. I really think the game's target is young kids. If it's on Lifetime, adults will see it, and get it for their kids to have a non-violent game. Although MoB_Psychopath is right. Anyone could enjoy that game.

I meant the older women, with kids, would get the game for their kids since it's not violent.

"specifically targeting their preferences and SENSIBILITIES" - Now, I know some hardworking - hardcore salon owners. You can't say that running a salon is a cushy job - and it pays handsomely. But I don't like that word [sensibilities] at all.

Agreed. I dislike the useage of that word as well.
I saw this a little while ago on Kotaku. I find it hilarious, yet it doesn't shock me at all. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
When I used to work at EB, I was amazed by the amount of mothers who came in looking for these particular types of games for their daughters.
Basiclly, as long as they see a market for it, someones going to hop on that train and ride it for all it's worth.

No feday, you use nail polish to paint your nails, that knife thing is called a nail file....geeze, you need a lot of practice before you can manage to play this game. *sigh*
