They took it out because they switched the type of forums we had - remember how the old forums looked completely different?

Since its just a nice feature to have it will be implemented with time permits. At the moment I am completely bogged down with other tasks to setup an IRC server and integrate it with the forums and apply a PHP front end. Its on my list of things I want to do though. I currently work on clan things ~ 8 hours per day + about 55+ hours of my job each week. I put a ton of work into the clan as a whole, and all i ask in return is patience. You will get it when I finish with the more important things. Running our forums, technical systems, all of PMS | H2O PC, and co-leading H2O is a LOT of work. I don't even get to play games anymore.

I'm sorry that this is more then y'all need to know but this is getting irritating. Please be patient.

The issues we had with the chat is finding a way to keep it regulated in some way, shape or form. The chat we previously used is compatible (a slightly diff version) with vbulletin, however it doesn't provide mods or admins with any power. In other words, there's no way to control when you've got people spewing crap in the chat. That was a huge problem in the past even when we did have control over it. We've looked at a few other software solutions, but have yet to find anything that suits our needs. Once we do - we'll implement it.

There HAS to be something. I find it kind of stupid that you couldnt find it already. Almost all of them should have it. At least thats what someone with some sense would think.

Vbulletin isn't exactly as commonly coded for as you might expect, mostly because there are so many security issues one must contend with. The journal system we had before we ended up removing because of one such problem. So some of the ones that are coded are quickly removed anyway. Its a bit trickier than it looks, mostly the fact that there just isn't enough incentive to code a *free* chat program that integrates with the vbulletin member database. There may be some pay-for-products that we'd be willing to look into, but honestly I haven't looked far outside of the vbulletin mod community for any. You're more than welcome to shoot me a PM or two with any you can find and i'll tell you if they're viable.

All admins will be IRCops with leaders as Chan admins. So we will have control. Let me get the server stuff finished and ill take care of that. I know a ton about IRC servers. There are multiple plugins we can use to have a web interface for IRC instead of getting MIRC. I can also integrate our member db myself. Not that hard

Ok everyone update time.

Our host we will be switching to will not allow the IRC server on their network. BUT we do know an IRCop that works for Gamesurge that will assist us if we have any issues.

I will setup a Java chat for the forums this week that connects to our current IRC channel.

Idk it's just weird and it reminds me of a place where pedofiles would hang out and stalk up little kids.

But there was a live chat on the old forum before it got hacked.. everyone would go in with and talk with one another and it was really fun. But now since we have a new forum, the chat is gone and now the forums seem super dead with no chat.
