Transformers: your thoughts?

I just saw the movie, and I am amazed. Awesome script. Stayed as true as possible. Love all the in movie refrences and old movie quotes ("One shall stand and one shall fall").

My only gripe is...

WTF Why did they kill Jazz!!!!?!?!?! I swear, I almost passed out when Megatron snaped him in two. I mean, he is THE coolest Autobot. The only reason I even withstand the Autobots. Megatron grabs him, and he goes;

"You want a piece of me?!"

While shooting him as Megatron dangles him like a lose noodle. And megs replies

"No, I wan't two!"

Then Megatron proceeds to snap him in two like a dumb No. 2 Pencil.

Other than that PERSONAL thing the movie was awesome and I can NOT wait to see the second one!

Well, when the sequel does come out I have a feeling they will bring Jazz back. I mean, it seemed like Bumblebee would stay mute forever, but I'm sure that was him speaking at the end right?

*BTW there is a little thing in Wikipedia about the Jazz action figure description that says Jazz is eventually repaired by Ratchet and gets a new paint job or something.

One thing that bothered me was this: where was Barricade in the final battle? Maybe it's just me, but he wasn't present at the final fight, right? If he wasn't then...how did a piece of him end up on that ship...I sure hope they don't just say Prime destroyed him offscreen. ;_; )

They took my childhood and released it into one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. It made me feel like a 6yr again and I only hope anyone thinking of doing a cartoon classic into movie format whatchs this flim and knows now the bar has been set so high it would be hard to do.

As for the comment on jazz's death I too was shocked but in todays formats of flim's they need to put in to give the movie the feeling you don't know who's going to live or die.
(e.g Prime die's in the cartoon version of Transformers the movie and I still have nightmares today)

Michael Bay sucks at directing, but luckily it's really hard to screw up giant robots :D

I really really liked this movie, but my only gripe is that it focused way too much on the humans. In the original show and the 80's cartoon movie it was more about the Transformers and the humans were just kind of in the way or on the sidelines. I mean a human killed Megatron? WTF??? Hopefully Michael Bay and S.S. are reading this right now and change thier ways.

In the sequel I really hope they bring in the Unicron, resurect Megatron as Galvatron, and bring back some of the other Autobots and Decepticons. I'd love to see Hotrod or Rodimus Prime, or the Dinobots, or the Constructicons, or Arcee, or he||... anyone.

BTW i've seen it twice now and havent seen Barricade's door on the ship at the end, I'm going tomorrow with my friend who just got back from Thailand and i'll look again, but can anyone point out where it is I should look? As far as I know he, Starscream and Scorponok could come back in the sequel too.

Barricade and Starscream are confirmed survivors and are being written into the Sequel. Soundwave is also coming in and rumor is the Constructicons are making a aappearance ( I'm sure they'll get the another Gelstat team maybe the Arialbots?)

The film makers have mentioned they have a good idea for introducing the Constructicons and the Dinobots.

Here's hoping for a good old "ME GRIMLOCK".

wooot I saw it again last night :D It was just as awesome the second time. Though this time the product placements were really bugging me. I wanted to count them, but it would've taken forever. haha.
I wanted to buy the soundtrack then I looked it up and saw that there were 2 good songs on it.. none of the awesome songs from the movie were on there.. so I dled it instead.. It only has like 12 songs.. LAME.

I even brought all 4 kids to the movies with me and they could have been jumping off the balcony and i wouldnt have noticed. i loved it, but i almost beat the crap out of the guy sitting next to me, because after watching the entire movie, at the end when sam kills megatron, the guy starts shouting, "OH YEAH RIGHT," "LIKE THAT WOULD EVER HAPPEN." and I just couldn't believe that out of everything in the movie the guy saw, Talking giant robots that transform into cars and turn earth into a battle ground....Sam killing Megatron was simplyt madness, like that was the one thing that could never happen, but everything else seemed perfectly plausable... GRRR!

It was honestly a lot better than I thought it would be. I was was very impressed with it. I dig that on Barracade, instead of saying "to protect and serve", it says "to punish and enslave". I laughed out loud when I read that.

I saw it in theaters when I was in Singapore for a port visit on my deployment. We had 3 girls and 3 guys in our group that day. Myself and the 3 guys wanted to see it, but the other 2 girls didn't. But afterward they were ranting and raving how great a movie it was.


I'm in love with Armor for Sleep now because of Transformers.

Being a transformers fanatic. I saw it 4 times in the theater. Im one of the few 33 years old that has the whole collection on dvd. I still remember most of the episodes and can name most of the original TF's. I thought the movie was great. I got chills hearing primes voice from the beginning. The audience was off the hook opening night, cheering and screaming through the whole movie. the sequel should be incredible when it comes out in 2009.
