"Life In Lines Seen by my Eyes"
Everybody's got so much to do,
they wander around without a clue,
they know not what they're living for
just trying to find new land to explore,
old gamblers bet and bust,
living in the cities of damnation and lust,
old drunkards try to quit they say
but that don't stop them from drinking today,
poor little girl can't pay her own way,
she's gotta work when she wants to play,
and when she's done she is just told
that she won't stop until she's old,
young man told to go to war,
with a brilliant mind that never got to soar,
watch that mind go all to waste,
when a bullet turns it into paste,
hopeless lovers wait for someone special,
but they know they're sins are unconfessional
they'll be waiting for the right one all their lives
their hope being the only that drives
young love gonna never stop,
a love candy coated, bubblegum pop,
but nothing lasts forever, it'll lose its flavor
then all that's important loses its fervor,
I've got so much to say
I'll rhyme until I'm old and gray,
but there's line that I know is true:
life's but a line, you've only got one rhyme to do.
