I have a laptop as well but if I'm ever getting a desktop I'll do something like that to it lol I'll go and strip an alien ware naked put it under a full custom tank and maybe sand blast the casing to add a few effects I'd put led lights bubbles as well as some plastic fishies. I'd wire an extra cooling system to cool the oil so =D I can be a RPG ***** and keep my computer on and do some major vending.
lastly get the glowing mouse, mouse pad, keyboard to go with the theme.

Mineral oil is not a very good idea. It does not work very well long term. There is a chemical you can use (cant remember name) thats much more expensive but lasts much longer and better with heat dissipation.

Oh and ill just stick to my water cooling loop and a t-line. Cheap. Works great. And dissipates much more heat then submersion as oil isn't that great.\

Now if you really want something cool go out and get a phase change system. You can get some awesome OCs with phase change. I like the Prometia Mach II

Or you can get amazing cooling with Rip's $4 air cooling mod!
Air duct out the window and 0C core FTW!
But yeh, i like phase change too. Fun stuff

uh this has been done many times before. Years and years ago. I saw at test of different cooling submersions back in like 2001 2002 on TSS. No they did not steal your idea.

I have been wanting to do this since i was 8...which was 95'...so i consider it my idea, whether or not it is, i like to take some ownership in it. :D

bah, who needs cooling agents? just put it in the ol ice box and go from there. just make sure you cover your precious with plastic wrap, since it will be rather damp in there. works best with chest freezers, then you can have your monitor and stuff on top.

I've never actually tryed that, but it almost sounds like it might work...

No offense but that is the definition of stupidity. A "ice box" causes mass condensation. Electrical components do not work properly and can fry due to condensation. It is even recommended to not even have a humidifier in the same room as your computer. Nobody should try to use this. Some people have been successful but it is VERY dangerous.

Ive seen Rip's method of cooling and it is a good idea but the fish tank thing just looks really cool.

Cool stuff - problem with setups like that is they're VERY temporary. The main issue is the liquid must remain non-conductive even through its contact with hardware carrying an electric current. Using cooking oil works well but that gets dirty real fast (http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/01/09/strip_out_the_fans/).

Could you imagine trying to move that sucker? You'd need a fork lift! ;)
