I'm probably the only one in the world who still likes the Smashing Pumpkins ... But, they've got a new song out called Tarantula and I heart it. :D
Also, here is the new album cover, which will be released 7/7/07. :eek:

They did break up, but are starting up this year.
Unfortunately, no. :[ The only original members are Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin.
James obviously is doing well for himself, so it's understandable that he isn't partaking in the reunion. Melissa Auf der Maur (UGH!!!) isn't joining thank goodness. And D'arcy hasn't publicly said anything ... but she has a life now. I wish she would come back!

I love this band. This is good news. hopefully they come back to their distortion heavy garage sound roots. I wasn't too fond of their last couple albums.

I just hope that they are releasing this album because they actually have something to say, not just in order to make some fast cash.
Anyone know if Smashing Pumpkins will have any live performances in US during July?

They have some dates posted there. I wish I could go. :[ So far, their only California dates are posted for San Francisco and they all seem to be sold out already.
Ive been a huge fan of Billy ever since I bought Gish when it first came out, all the way through Zwan and his other side projects. I'm excited but the song leaves a lot more to be desired for me.

I want to. The last time I checked, all the California dates they had up were already sold out. :( Maybe if they have some other ones and if I have moniesss.
