Souder-Man 3: Your Thoughts?

I got home from viewing Spider-Man 3 last night. I don't want to release spoilers, but if you have seen the movie how do you feel about it?

I wasn't very pleased. The action was very good, I was very pleased with the casting. Venom was simply amazing. I can't say i was too happy with Sandman's role over all. it was a bit dissapointing anf it felt like there was a lot of filler material in between the action scenes.

Over it was a ok movie but I felt like I was expecting a lot more, and ultimatley felt left down. if you have seen the movie what are your thoughts on it? Were you pleased or dissapointed?

i really liked it. i saw the midnight showing and it kept me awake haha. which is more to say about a lot of movies.

i agree about sandman, kind of a filler villain not really that enjoyable, especially when they tried to give him a backstory. they could have taken him out completely and it wouldn't have ruined the movie at all, in fact they could have added more new goblin and venom parts instead, which in my opinion are much better villains.

harry (whoever the actor is) plays a really good villain, he has that look of just been a bad guy, that's what i got from him. i hated him at the start but he redeemed himself at the end ;)

i believe venom should have played a bigger part. he was in it for maybe 20 min (venom not brock). i think there should have been a better spidey vs venom battle, venom is really awesome and it would have been nice to see him in more action.

all in all i wasn't really disappointed, everything i expected to happen did. im seeing it again tonight so obviously i think it was a pretty good movie :D

I have yet to see it. I bellieve that they showed too much for previews so I am hesitant on watching it. Being a Comic book fan I really can't see how they can develope 3 different villians completely and have great story flow- But maybe they did . I'll know this weekend.

I liked it! I mean, it could've been better.. but so could any good movie that is over hyped :p Venom is one of my favorite villans, so I was happy to see him :D
the effects were pretty kickass, I loved the action scenes. It would've been nice to see more stuff, but there was a nice share of action. I just love watching spiderman swing through the air. :D Gotta say, the end was pretty tight.

I agree with labyrinth tho.. i would have LOVED to see more venom/spidey battles..

and yeah.. whats up with the "souder-man" thing? lol

I got passes for the premiere yesterday afternoon. Five hours of waiting in a line... mainly waiting for promoters to make their "grand appearance". But, I got the passes for free! ;D!

Anyway, I liked it. I've liked them all, even though they're obviously different from comics and different from the cartoon shows ... for what it was, it was good. I wasn't too keen on the "emo Parker" thing and that scene with the ... well, I'm sure you know. It was the scene where you were like wtf is he doing, nooo!! What they did with Venom was amazingly good, I agree that Sandman wasn't spectacular-- and could have easily been done better... but they were dealing with more Villains than they really needed anyway...and I thought they were going to have the lizard but they didn't. But it's probably good they didn't anyway. Uhm...the end was good with the 2...uhm, you know... (can't spoil anything for those who haven't seen it) lol....

I still collect comics and Spiderman is my fav character....I loved the movie. With its over the top moments I thought it was alot like a comic book. Comics are supposed to be over the top, thats what makes them fun. But why is everyone hating on Sandman? I thought they did an awesome job with him.

Not enough symbiote spiderman, he didnt fight enough. Not enough venom, should have made him the main plot. And did ANYONE notice his lack of spidey sense?

Ok, remmeber when he threw the bomb pointblank at harrys face? Why didn't he die? It anniliated venom, granted he was weak, but still. It stunned the sandman, made him collapse and fall. The green goblin gas is not that strong, harry stopped breathing during the first fight, so how did this huge bomb now kill him. Another thing, if the symbiote was connected to his suit, why didnt he throw that away? Why did he practically rip it off his skin

Sandman was the only character who was developed completely during the movie, they even let Parker fall flat.

The scene where Sandman is first pulling himself together and learning to grasp things is the best scene in the entire movie in my opinion.

Yeah, I saw a midnight showing of this and wanted my money back. I can't count the many times I just laughed during this movie.

Seriously; Emo Parker? What the heck was that about? In one scene you could actually SEE the eyeliner he was wearing, it was ridiculous!!

I think they tried to pile way too much into that movie and it just ended up really garbeled, I mean, did he REALLY have to fight every enemy in that movie twice? And did there really need to be that whole love triangle? I mean, it was enough with Harry and MJ, I didn't think Gwen (although a cool nod to comic fans) needed to be brought in.

And that dance scene? Oh wow. I just...wow. *sigh*

I think the only cool things that redeemed it for me were the end fight, Venom, and Harry, who was I think the coolest character in the movie to me. I absolutely hated Topher Grace as Venom, but he was alright as Brock. The lines he delivered as venom were just terrible acting, yuck.

Venom was cool, though the eyes seemed wierd to me. and as for 'Evil' Peter Parker, I thought VERY unconvincing and he just looked like a complete idiot. I did like the whole Mary Jane emotion thing though.

I saw Spiderman 3 Saturday night.. I loved it... Personally, I loved the emo spiderman! :D

The thing is people went to see SPIDERMAN 3, not EMOKID 3. When has Peter Parker ever been emo in any of the cartoons or comics? Never.

The first Spiderman was good. The other two sucked. They had so much potential, but they just keep taking it farther and farther away from what it is.

I also think they had Peter and MJ get together way too soon. It's cut them off from a lot of stuff they could have done. I'm happy they haven't gotten married yet though because if I remember correctly that keeps the whole Blackcat/Morbious(sp?)/Blade story arc from the 90's cartoon open to fiddle around with. That all took place in Season two. So far they've stayed pretty much in season one. If they keep changing stuff like they're doing, I don't think they'll get past maybe one other sequel before it fails miserably. It's a shame really because I would have loved to see the whole Secret Wars story arc on the bigscreen.

But I personally liked it it made me laugh and showed peter having a little fun and I think The director took Some libertys with the secene but It was enjoyable.
Personally I've enjoyed every one each more then the last. Did any one notice that Kristen Dunst has lost a Large ammout of weight since the First movie?

I myself am really Dissapointed with the fact that Venom was not really used in the movie as much as I expected. It could've been better and I believe most of the Focuse of the movie went onto The Symbiote(Or however you spell it) and Sandman... Green Goblin got some attention.
I mean it was cool but what also migh have made it hard was the fact that three Villains were involved. I won't say anything that happened cause that's spoiling the movie but it's just the way I think it went wrong, It's an ok movie and I give it 2 out 5.

Though i do agree venom should have played a bigger role...and i did not like the ending with him "dying" because that leaves out carnage story arc. for the people talking about the spider sense when hes fighting venom, venom has the ability to block the spider sense.

The ability to bypass the Spider-Sense (because the original symbiote was attached to Peter first, it took his genetic information and spider-powers. This means that the symbiote attacking Peter would essentially be Peter attacking himself, which wouldn't set off his Spider-Sense; during the Clone Saga, this became complicated, as Venom did set off Ben Reilly's Spider-Sense, but Carnage apparently did not).
