This is probably old news to some people, but I just realized this today. You can put pics (JPEG only) on a usb stick (or probably networked from your pc, too). Just go to "pictures" on your dashboard. Then hit "x" and it will copy them to your 360 dashboard. Then you can use them as backgrounds on your themes menu,
Here is some pics I tried to take with my digital camera. Wish I would have found this out a long time ago. I used 1023x768 wallpaper, and some smaller images also worked pretty good.

Oh and on a different know, check out this in game advertising. First time I have noticed it in real time. So I guess it changes periodically.

yeah its way old news but too bad that microsoft sucks at life for only making it one wallpaper.
you cant use different ones for each blade.
plus when you use your own wallpaper it takes longer for the xbox 360 dashboard to start up.

Yah, I heard you could do it a long time ago. But everyone I talked to said you had to have Windows Media Center to use them.

lol I don't see how it's faster.
Using network (assuming you already have the network set up from streaming music):
Navigate to Media blade
Select pictures
Select your computer from the list
Navigate through the pictures to find the one you want
Hit X
using thumbdrive (assuming you don't already have the picture on there):
Find picture on your harddrive
Copy it to thumbdrive
Plug the thumbdrive into your 360
Navigate to Media blade
Select pictures
Select your thumbdrive from the list
Navigate through the pictures to find the one you want
Hit X
lol the thumbdrive adds a couple steps on the process. Most people probably have streamed audio, so they've already got it set up making it easier and faster.
Depends if you have windows media connect set up yet ;)
I've been using mine for quite a while, i like it. Personally i'm kinda meh that you can't really customize the blades, give it a tech look or something. But considering the lack of space the flash memory has (4MB for the whole OS?) they cram a lot in there already. Maybe in the future.

You didn't need Media Center. All you really need is Windows Media Player 11.
I have Media Center XP, and honestly I don't know why I wanted it now. The extra gadgets it comes with are pretty much useless.
Media Center itself doesn't really do anything spectacular that I couldn't do before. It shows pictures, plays music, plays movies, but all with a different UI.
Theres a program that puts dancers on your screen when you play music, but it's pretty useless and the dancers don't dance in sync to the music. The novelty of such a program wore off I think at the same time Peedy, the talking green parrot (http://www.pchell.com/support/bonzibuddy.shtml) got so frustratingly annoying you wanted to strangle him.
The only thing that comes with Media Center that I see of any use is the Party Mode. That way people can play the music they want without being able to snoop around and find your pr0n.

Yeah I still think it's a cool feature though

There's something I did a while back. It worked out pretty good, but I haven't used it in like a year. Some things on it I don't like, but it's easy to fix.
It sure was interesting getting everything lined up properly. Oh and it worked out on all the blades except system.

That's what I use it for. It's nice to be able to record a show or movie and then stream it to my 360. Now I have one less reason to get up off the couch.:)

the video has to be a certain format and with media center you can just use that to stream with so its actually streaming through the media center which makes it a little easier, but it still has to be mpeg or wmv i think unless you record it with media center of course. My husband actually knows more about this.

You have three choices.
Windows Media Player 11 (IMO the best choice since Windows Media Player comes with all Windows based PCs, and upgrading to 11 if you don't already have it is a free upgrade. That means there's one less thing to install and clutter up your computer and menus).
Zune (Doesn't come with your computer, so you have to download it. It's one more thing to clutter up your various menus and hard drive. Also, as far as I saw it didn't have any features that WMP 11 doesn't have, so it's basically nothing more than a useless redundancy).
I have Windows Media Center, but I haven't played around with it much. As far as I can tell it doesn't do anything special (that I can't already do) other than watching TV, but I don't have the hook up for that.
For converting your videos to a suitable format, use this: http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/Xbox360/

I hope you don't feel attacked or anything. I just posted that there were choices because I've heard so many people say you HAVE to have this or HAVE to have that.
