There has been quite a bit of flooding in areas around me, the one river is well over 10 feet above flood levels and still rising. good thing i'm pretty high up on a hill.

It stormed here where I live pretty bad, it flooded, and flooded a lot of basements, and it was raw sewage because the sewers were backed up. It was terrible, and it continues to rain here.

Its been dumping in the Maryland/Virginia/DC area the last few days.. todays the first sunny day I've seen in a while.

Actually ditch the surge protector, go for a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). Essentially its surge protection plus auto battery backup so that your comp doesn't just die when the power goes out and you can shut down normally. Its a good thing :-)
