Hm, lets see. The features you're discussing:
For bandwidth reasons its usually not the most common to see forums allow animated avatars, the old ones were a bit unusual in that. Consider it just meant to be easy on the eyes here ;-)
The little peeps for your post count have a lot more flexability here, and you might actually see something a bit more nifty in the long run.

Custom userbanners are also available and will be set at a certain post limit by one of the admins working on it.

For several reasons, first off there were well over 6,000 members. Its impossible to know who had how many posts. Secondly that would simply encourage post count as a measure of something, when in fact the number of posts someone accumulates doesn't show much other than the number of times they've clicked the 'post quick reply' button.

We lost all records of post counts (we lost everything)... so we cannot go through all of our 7,000+ members and replace the posts. Everyone is starting over. Even I, one of the top 5 posters in the forums, am forced back to zero. So you're not alone in this...

I know it sucks, but look at it as a fresh start... a new race! lol

As for what Rip assumed, he is correct... we are not allowing animated avatars. Our site will begin to have heavy traffic flow and made this decision to help the bandwidth and functionality of the forums.

stop complaining about the rules. we just got HACKED. and this site is BRAND NEW. so of course there are going to be lots of restrictions. and im sure that after awhile they can make the ability to have moving avatars and what not.

Lol, I love you guys, you're all weirder then me. Anyway, you guys already know our main focus is getting the divisions organized and settled. Anything else is secondary at the moment. And it's getting harder with more members registering. And the process is slower because we need to verify EVERYONE through their division leader. First, we need to make sure they are who they say they are, and second we need to verify that they are active in their divisions. We have people outside of PMS working on different aspects of the site that's gonna make it better then ever. I'm not sure if we're gonna have a chat similar to the one we had before, but we'll see.

And for those who didn't know, yes we were hacked, there was a security flaw in our old board that made it vulnerable. However, we were planning on moving over to this forum anyway, which is much more secure then the old one. Like I said before our hacker helped us get the ball rolling.
