Hey everyone, I use AIM, but I was wondering what everyone thought the best Instant Messenger program is, in terms of system processing power used, in terms of security, and ease of use.

I prefer Trillian (http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/) because I can use all my instant messengers at once.
I'm sure a lot of people will argue forever on what's best.

What they didn't say about the spring update is that there is a 6-person chat :D
My friend got the dashboard update 2 weeks ago, kind of illegally from his cousin at microsoft :D
But he said there was a 6 person private chat hehe

You can have 6 different IM conversations going on at once. There's not 6-person private chat.

I've never really cared too much for Trillian... I mainly just use MSN because it's all that I'm ever on, other than Xfire.
However at the moment I'm enjoying webmessenger.msn.com since the actual program is blocked at work. :(

Why don't you just try one? If you don't like it, uninstall it.

We’ve shifted the focus back to cleaning up Bugzilla a bit; this week’s Build 43 is primarily a bugfix build. Server stability and enhancement work continues and is coming along nicely, and with its ultimate completion we will hopefully knock out the dreaded bug 465 as well. The performance and stability of Trillian Astra’s server-side is very important to us for obvious reasons; noone wants their service to collapse once it sees some real load, and we definitely don’t subscribe to the “build now, scale later” philosophy at Cerulean Studios. Scaling issues should be surprises to everyone involved and not the result of engineering oversight, laziness, or incompetence.
Reminders for those of you still waiting to get your hands on Astra:
* When the server-side stabilizes a few more notches, we’ll open the testing up to a larger group (in the multi-thousands).
* All current and past Pro customers will get their chance to experiment with the alpha before we feature-freeze.
Enjoy the build. We’ll see you next week!
