I hadn't seen the walkthrough before (only hear of it), nice post Tears.

it's crazy. they actually want you to pay for items such as tv's and furniture to decorate a room that is virtual? the fact that you'll be able to chat with others in a sims like situation is cool but to make you spend money on the other stuff isn't a very smart move for sony. it should be free.

Yes thats why its an "Op-In" it basicly allows you to sign up for the beta and they will invite people in batches much like what Blizzard is doing with WoTLK

by op-in -.- if you dont know what "op-in" means its basically entering yourself into the database for invites go to the psn store and look for the Home Theme

I got my beta invite last night. I was kinda surprised though since I've hardly been on my PS3 in a while. I'll try it out and give my opinions when I get a chance.

Some information about Home from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Home):

Every user has a private apartment space that they can modify and change over time. The basic apartment is free and will offer users lots of options for customization and personalization. In the future, Sony will provide tools that will enable users to have an even greater ability to create their own Home spaces and content.

The world of PlayStation Home will not only consist of players' houses, but there will also be arcade-games that can be played, as well as games like pool billiards and bowling.

Home will also contain a virtual cinema which will screen films that have been released on DVD/Blu-ray,[16][17], the seating areas containing other Home users will be seen and the screen is viewable [18] there will be an option to select full screen mode so the content playing will appear the same as any other video, DVD, or Blu-ray played from the PS3 System.

Although the service itself will be free of charge, content will be available on the PlayStation Store, such as clothes, furniture and game specific accessories, which can be purchased, but some might be available free of charge. Content can also be unlocked on specific games. Larger apartments can be purchased that come with games such as billiards or a swimming pool

Now THIS is interesting:
Users will be able to make money in Home by using an auction service that will be implemented which will allow users to sell their Home assets and user-created content to other users. In a 2007 keynote speech, Phil Harrison described Home as a "Game 3.0" game.

I think it sounds pretty sweet. Being cheap I probably won't buy a lot for my home but I'll buy some. I love that everyone will be able to use it.

To get home first get QORE ep 6 everyone with either a yearly subscription or ep 6 gets in home's closed beta before it's rolled out to everyone else! Qore's on ps store for like under $5 per ep
while a year runs $25. It's a L-A-R-G-E download @ around 2200MB so it might take awile to get it. Between 25 min-hour
depending on connection and time of day...personally i recommend waiting til around 11:30 pm as that's after prime time when more people are online so you'll have an easier time of downloading it. Sony might send you an e-mail with the code
but it also might be in ep 6's dl center.

I have a yearly subscription so when it's avaible it'll show up as QORE EP 6 in my ps store download center. I'll be home by thanksgiving if not 2 weeks before.

After i posted that you can get home by picking up QORE ep 6 i
recieved a sony email that said only annuial subscribers who join by 10-29-08 would get in. Sony may recieve complaints after promising home to all ep 6 buyers.

I'm tired of waiting Sony! When they announced Home the Second Life bubble was growing and everybody thought Home was an awesome idea. Now that we all got tired of Second Life because having one life is hard enough Home seems to me like something more of a gimmick. I think the PS3 is a really good console that has been neglected by Sony. Little Big Planet is here, 30 buck full game downloads are here. Where is my Home??? :mvshakefist:

I have the beta, and it freezes my console whenever I leave it sitting there. It's frozen on me twice already.
