they didnt beat them, but they held out long enough for the athenians to retreat, therefore providing the opportunity to have a counter-attack.

look into it, it is a nice reall history lesson :P
and it wasnt onlythe Spartans that stayed, but ya know :P

great movie though, and im gonna go see it this weekend.

I know they lose, but when comparing the loss of men, sparta destroyed persia. And wtf are those ugly ogre things in teh trailer.

masterchief is pretty much a wimp compared to the real spartans. Masterchief can't even beat up some aliens

just seen it and is OWNS! friken awesome movie will be getting it soon lol. Love the slow motion of the cut off limbs and the awesome heavy metal music they added. Now on my top 5 movie picks

I just saw it. It is now my favourite movie of all time. It destroys. And Gerard Butler is amazing. I could go on and on but I need to sleep. I did make a sig with it though.

I'm seeing it tomorrow at the IMAX (I could've seen it today, but there were two groups of friends going and I didn't really wanna pay twice in two days, no matter how awesome the movie is).

wow...

is all i have to say. greatest movie i've ever seen, it lived up to my expectations and blew those out of the water, i hope to see it many times over within the next couple weeks.

the fight scenes and the gore and the slow motion mixed with fast forward motion and normal motion, it was all just absolutely amazing.

It was great.. but 2 things bothered me.

1) If you ever saw a preview for 300, you basically spoiled 50% of the script in the entire movie.

2) Even though it fit the style, 75% of the movie was in slow motion.. During fighting, its acceptable. When somebodies riding a horse to town.. Nah :/.

I loved this movie.. I don't think the plot was given away though... I mean, it's basic history to know the story of the Spartans and that's all it was. :D

The effects were amazing, everything was filmed on bluescreen, that makes it even cooler :D

All I have to say is the queen is freaking PIMP! I loved her :D

Ya this movie...... uh was awesome but it was a dissapointment from the hype of the trailer. The trailer was basically the whole movie. The movie was like 40 minutes if u get rid of all the special slow mo effects. The last battle maybe could have been more of a fight. Anyone clap when she stabbed the traitor? yaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Oh ya, and isn't it funny how in troy Sparta was getting their butts kicked but in this movie Sparta owned. haha i think its a funny contrast

It's based on a graphic novel based on an ACTUAL PART OF HISTORY.

Anyone could have known the ending. I knew the ending as I walked into the theatre. It's as if saying the trailer for "Letters from Iwo Jima" gave the ending away.

Ownage movie - just saw it today. I really think they could have gotten rid or or sped up the ''love'' scenes. I think it really slowed the movie down more than it should of IMO.

Alot of people were complaining how they had orges, and all these wierd looking characters and stuff. It was a little hollywoodish(what movie isn't) but I thought they did a great job. Of course there were orges and other beings, that is how everything is writen in the books. Gods and goodesses and freaks of nature, they were all very real the people in this time. I like that they added all the myths into it as well.

I may just be the only one in this thread that thought this movie was down right pathetic. ****ty script, so much was cut out of the actual book, the acting and dialogue probably couldn't of been any more dull than the plot outline... SPARTAAAAAAAAA.. I didn't know blood evaporated before it hit the ground. The only thing I liked was probably the cinematographic effect they used on the horizon, which was green screen, but nice photography for that though. For me not being drunk, I probably would have found this movie a complete waste of time. Unless you're completly shallow and only care for dull action films, i wouldn't recommend this movie to you.

See I've read the graphic novel and I thought that it was almost spot on. There are alot of sub plots that they added to the movie that weren't in the book, but I can't think of anything important that wasn't in the movie.

I absolutely loved that I could actually pick out scenes from the movie and say that it was almost exactly the same (style wise) as the comic.
