PMS Atiyana, and science, need your help!

There is still a lot we do not know about video games, context and effective educational game design. This study seeks to understand video games and experience in order to inform game design for learning.

The study is being conducted by PMS Atiyana (Gabriela Richard), a longtime member of PMS|H2O, as part of her doctoral thesis at New York University.

Complete information about the study as well as how to participate can be found on the study's website.

You can participate in the study by completing a 20-minute survey, a 40-minute interview or both. Surveys and interviews will ask about your personal preferences, identity, experiences and perspectives related to video games and education.

Surveys are open to anyone 18 and over who plays video games. There are a limited amount of interview slots. Interviews are only open to PMS|H2O Clan casual or active members who are 13 or older (parental permission required if under 18).

Incentives:
At the end of the interview, you will receive 1600 Xbox Live Points (or equivalent $20 gaming gift certificate for non-XBOX players).

At the completion of the survey, you will be entered into a raffle to win one of the following prizes:

  • PlayStation Vita (2 available)
  • Xbox 360 250GB (1 available)
  • PS3 160GB System (1 available)
  • ASTRO A40 Headset (2 available)
  • $100 Amazon Card (2 available)
  • $75 Amazon Card (2 available)
  • $20 Amazon Card (several available)
  • $20 PSN Card (several available)
  • 1600 Microsoft Points (several available)

The grand prize winner has first pick from any of the above prizes, and subsequent winners get to choose from what is remaining.

This study has been approved by the University Committee on Activities Involving Human Subjects at New York University (IRB #12-8895).

Gift certificates and raffle prizes are not affiliated with PMS Clan, their affiliates or their sponsors. The study is being supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation. This study does not reflect the views of the National Science Foundation, the PMS Clan or their affiliates or sponsors. Any questions or concerns about the study and incentives should be brought to PMS Atiyana directly.
