H2O Famous: Could you tell us a little about yourself?

H2O CasperGemini: My real name is Abel, currently residing in San Antonio, Texas. 30 year old deaf gamer and recently became the President of the San Antonio Chapter of the ECA. Our Chapter is at www.ecasanantonio.com so for those of you in the San Antonio Region, keep an eye on that site for meeting details and chapter information to come soon! I'm also glad to be part of the WOW Division of the H2O Clan, so before the Server change, I was known as Caydence, the trivia guy, so now i'm back to using the old CasperGemini on it, damn rename!

H2O Famous: So you're Deaf? Can you explain a little bit about that?

H2O CasperGemini: Sure, I was born deaf, raised with a hearing family. I went to Sunshine Cottage School for the deaf. I learned the hardway that sign language was forbidden there by a visit to the principal's office. I started learning Sign Language when I went to a public school Oak Grove. I walked into the classroom and saw 2 girls signing to each other, I had absolutely no idea what they were saying. I kind of felt left out, so i wanted to fit in. I forced myself to start learning sign language by learning the alphabet, a few keywords, eventually becoming fluent by the end of the school year. I usually wear a pair of hearing aids to hear sounds and to assist me with social interaction. Honestly I hate the noises, so I usually turn off the hearing aids and I'm at total peace, so quiet it's like being underwater with absolutely nothing to hear at all. I can speak pretty much like everyone else, thanks to the training I received at Sunshine Cottage, and can basically interact with everyone else. I'm also dependent on lip reading. The few people I've encountered had beards covering their faces are difficult for me to lip-read. In addition I want to try to recruit the Hearing-Impaired community Internationally and try to get us involved into gaming as well as into the PMS/H2O Clan in hopes to help the clan grow.

H2O Famous: Do you feel at a disadvantage being a deaf gamer?

H2O CasperGemini: Yes I do, because sometimes when I'm playing counterstrike source, it's difficult for me to hear the footsteps behind me, cuz I'm always trying to avoid the embarrassment of getting pwnd by knifing. I'm also not happy when clans require the use of vent in certain situation, however when I'm raiding in WOW with the previous guilds, some were ok with giving me instructions before we attack a boss or mob. The PMS Guild is great and understanding, while we were doing Magtheridon, they explained to me exactly what to do, and I did it down to the last letter, our attemped failed at the time, but, I'm glad to be part of that certain raid.

H2O Famous: How long have you been gaming?

H2O CasperGemini: I started it out when my dad bought me my 1st console system, the Atari 2600. I'll never forget the day my Dad and I laugh so hard at what I did before playing frogger. The Theme music was playing and once it reached at the end, in perfect timing, I let out a floor-shaking fart. We couldn't stop laughing for like 3 mins or so, just too funny at that time.......Moving on, The consoles I got were NES, SNES, N64, after that I stopped playing on the consoles and played PC Hardcore. I eventually got bored with PC gaming and wanted to join the Xbox360 Scene, so I thought why not give that a shot, ever since then I was hooked on it and noticed I was playing WOW less and Less. So in response to your question, I'm pretty much a casual gamer and have been playing for over 25 years.

H2O Famous: What games do you mostly play?

H2O CasperGemini: I like to play WOW, Garry's MOD, some games on the Xbox, COD4, Texas Hold'em, Rockband 2, and a few oldies.

H2O Famous: How and when did you find out about PMS CLAN?

H2O CasperGemini: I'll never forget the 1st time I saw Athena-Twin at Quakecon of '07. I was kind of shy at that time, and it took until the next day for me to go up to her, say 'hi' kept it short and all that. I'll never forget the 2 words that she burned into my brain, ANTEC and PATRIOT, cuz she split the crowd into 2, 1 crowd shouts ANTEC, the other crowd shouts PATRIOT, and she asked questions and gave away freebies for those that answered the questions right, in addition,  They also held a raffle for prizes as well which was awesome. Now comes in Quakecon '08 I saw her again, in addition met Venus, they were VERY welcoming and at that point I felt a connection, something like a calling. I met some of those ladies and gave away those glowing bracelets so they can remember me after the event. I decided after Quakecon why not join their clan, so I paid their website a visit and discovered an IRC Channel. I went in there, chatted it up and felt really close to them. I remember the 1st person I PM'd was Famous because I needed voice access. From that point I decided to hang out with them, decided to join the division that I do best in which was at 1st TF2, then decided to go for WOW since it was easier to join them, so HERE I AM!!

H2O Famous: So you are in the the WOW division??? What are your duties in the division?

H2O CasperGemini: Yeseree! My Duties in the PMS Clan Guild in Darrowmere Server is simply do weekly trivia nights for 10 gold a question or a random prize for up to 10 questions (That's 100 gold a week!!). They go nuts over this, and the response is a tremendous success, but it's killing me financially in there, however the leaders offered to help out, so it works out.

H2O Famous: What do you like most about PMS|H2O?

H2O CasperGemini: I love hanging out with the PMS/H2O peoples in the IRC Channel, as well as the Guild in WOW. GO RAID TEAM!! PWN NAXX!!!!

H2O Famous: Do you go to gaming events?

H2O CasperGemini: Hell yeah! I'm gonna be at Quakecon '09!! BEST TO SEE ME THERE!!!
